Republicans currently hold the Senate seat, but it’s certain to flip to the Democratic caucus in about two weeks. North Carolina looks like yet another state Trump and Vance won in 2024, and Democrats are about to have a big night in, so whatever life-support mission Vance was trying to carry out in North Carolina was already behind the eight ball.
The vice president has also shown himself to be awkward, unlikable, and not quick on his feet, so JD Vance committing a self-own as he was trying to recover from being protested was not surprising.
