California

A man was taken to the hospital after being stabbed at a mall in Rancho Cucamonga on Saturday evening, authorities said.

Deputies responded to the Victoria Gardens mall just after 6:30 p.m., according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

Officials say a confrontation led to the suspect pulling out a knife and stabbing the man, who was at the mall with his wife. The man’s condition was not immediately known.

The suspect left and was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder near Foothill Boulevard and Cottonwood Avenue in the neighboring city of Fontana, the sheriff’s department said.

It’s unclear what relationship, if any, the suspect had to the victim. Authorities did not provide more details about the suspect.
