What To Know
- Camryn Manheim joins Season 2 of 9-1-1: Nashville in a recurring role.
- Find out who she’ll be playing and her connection to the plagues in Music City.
Did 9-1-1: Nashville just cast the Pharaoh, the one behind the plagues in Season 2, with a Law & Order vet?
Camryn Manheim will recur as “Dr. Marcia Zellner, a brilliant, emotionally complex clinical therapist and crisis manager who joins the call center to support the dispatchers as they deal with the mysterious Pharaoh killer terrorizing Nashville with his Biblical Plagues,” according to Deadline. “However, as we’ll soon discover, Dr. Zellner harbors a dark grudge and is far more twisted and conniving than anyone can possibly imagine.”
Across the first two episodes, the city of Nashville has been plagued by murder hornets, a flood of blood, and boils. The new Metro detective, Rogue (Ryan Phillippe), is the one to put it all together, realize they’re connected, and dig into the Bible pages, along with some help firefighter Ryan (Michael Provost) left at the scenes. Don (Chris O’Donnell) isn’t as much a fan of Rogue’s as the rest of the 113 (and their family members), but that’s going to change.
“There’s that friction with Don initially that’s apparent, but things that happen in the season then change our relationship with each other, too,” Phillippe told TV Insider. O’Donnell echoed that: “I think once their interests are aligned, it makes it a lot easier to work.”

Phillippe promised “a lot more twists and turns and cliffhangers and moments that will shock the audience” in the second season compared to the first. “This serial killer is unpredictable. Even though he’s using the Biblical Plagues, they’re his version of it, so they don’t always end up working out the way you would imagine. It’s his own twisted version of what that plague might be,” he explained. “And my character, you’ll see as the season progresses, becomes obsessed with stopping this guy. It’s what he lives, eats, breathes, sleeps. I mean, it haunts him in his dreams because of the scope of what this guy is doing to the city of Nashville and how many people are actually being killed along the way. So it becomes a full-on obsession to find this guy and to stop him.”
It certainly sounds to us like Marcia could be the Pharaoh with that character description. If she’s not, it’s possible she manipulated the person who is into doing what he is — that could be a twist.
So, what do you think? Do you think Camryn Manheim’s Dr. Marcia Zellner could be the Pharaoh based on that description? Let us know your theories about her character in the comments section below.
