The Longhorns and the Tigers face off today in a game with big playoff implications
The No. 10 Texas Longhorns face the No. 19 Missouri Tigers today in what could be a crucial game for both programs’ College Football Playoff hopes. They’ll do battle at Faurot Field in Columbia, Missouri, and ESPN will provide a national broadcast.
The two teams enter the field with identical 6-2 records. The Longhorns are coming off two good wins, including a 34-27 victory over Ole Miss and a 31-3 thrashing of MS State, after suffering a pair of losses the weeks before. They’ll look to maintain a very sturdy defense and lean on quarterback Arch Manning, who’s led Texas to a 30.8-point average this season.
The Tigers are slight underdogs today, but they’ll be at home in Columbia, where they’re unbeaten this season. Plus, they’ll be feeling hot after a decisive 34-10 win over Arkansas.
