Coronavirus: Hospitals in L.A. County fall below 700 with 859 new cases and 39 new deaths as of March 26

Los Angeles public health officials reported 859 new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases to 1,217,034 as of Friday, March 26.

Officials said there were 39 new deaths linked to the coronavirus, for a total 23,055 deaths since tracking began.

A total of 4,015,806 vaccinations have been administered in the county as of Thursday.

There were 100 fewer hospitalizations reported since Thursday, bringing the official count of hospitalizations to 692, the lowest number of hospitalizations since October.

Data posted each day is preliminary and subject to change, officials emphasize. More information may become available as individual case investigations are completed.
