Valley Cultural Foundation presented the first in a series of free summertime concerts on Sunday, June 27 at Warner Park in Woodland Hills.
Sunday’s concert was “A Night of Original Rhythm and Blues” with Av!va, Brittney Crush and Terrell Edwards.
The three performers are part of the foundation’s “emerging artists” showcase that is part of most of the upcoming concerts through Sept. 5.
Concertgoers brought blankets and low-back lawn chairs for seating plus a picnic dinner. Food trucks and community information booths are scheduled for the run of the series.
Concerts start at 5:30 and end at 8 p.m. on Sundays, except for the July 4 concert that begins at 6 p.m. with Ticket to Ride, a Beatles tribute, and the band Illunis, followed by a fireworks display around 9 p.m. Check the website for the schedule and other details.
Parking is available at 21800 Califa St. (full price fee before 4:30 p.m.) and also at the structure on Owensmouth Avenue between Califa and Oxnard streets.
Although the concerts are free, the foundation offers VIP seating and parking for various fees.
