
An investigation is underway after a 16-year-old girl was sexually assaulted at a park in Lynwood.
The assault took place on May 16 at Lynwood Park, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The victim was at the park at about 8:15 p.m. when a man sexually assaulted her in the men’s restroom near the park’s baseball fields.
Investigators have identified a person of interest in the case and LASD said it’s seeking the public’s help in identifying the individual.
The assailant is described as a man about 30 years old with shoulder-length black hair, brown eyes, a thin build and who stands at 5-feet-5-inches tall. He wore blue jeans, a black shirt and a black sweater at the time of the assault.
LASD said the man may be unhoused.
