This just works.
Lainey Wilson recently shared an acoustic cover of two very interesting songs, which aren’t country in the least bit, but somehow she put them together and made it work with her Louisiana twang.
She mixed the Justin Bieber hit “Daisies” with Olivia Dean’s “Man I Need,” and while they’re definitely two huge pop hits, I would have never thought of them being used as a mash up or hearing Lainey cover them, but I’m here for it… she made it work really well.
Lainey shared the video of her messing around on the guitar on her porch, and if she is, in fact, recording it to put out… we need it sooner rather than later:
“‘Daisies’ with a little ‘Man I Need’ because I couldn’t help myself.”
I love seeing musicians show off their talent in unexpected ways like these:

Speaking of Lainey, it was recently announced that she will be guest starring in Season 2 of comedian Leanne Morgan’s Netflix comedy series, Leanne, playing a character named Jessie in episode 209, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Of course, Leanne is a hilarious Southern comedian who has been at the comedy thing for years now, and she really blown up over the las several years. But like you’ll hear her talk about often, for a long time, she was raising her three kids and doing random corporate events working on her craft. It took years, but she’s really made a big career for herself, and if you watched the CMA Awards this past November, you likely saw her on stage presenting alongside Lainey.
Leanne has put out several great comedy special, and last year, she scored her very first sitcom named after her called Leanne, which finds her going into her 60s as a divorced woman after years of being married and raising children:
“Leanne’s (Leanne Morgan) world is turned upside down when her husband of 33 years unexpectedly leaves her for another woman. Supported by her family, including her ride-or-die sister Carol (Kristen Johnston), Leanne learns to embrace the chaos and finds strength, laughter and hope in the most unexpected places. This heartfelt comedy proves that it’s never too late to rewrite your story.”
The first season was 16-episodes, and also stars several familiar faces in Kristen Johnston, Celia Weston, Blake Clark, Ryan Stiles, Jayma Mays, Tim Daly, Graham Rogers, Hannah Pilkes and Andrea Anders.
I’m not all too surprised to see Lainey joining as a guest star, as she has don quite a bit of acting both on TV and on the big screen. She played a musician named Abby in season 5 of Yellowstone, and earlier this year, Lainey made her feature film debut as a character named Amy in the movie Reminders of Him, which was adapted from the Colleen Hoover book.
But this is the first time Lainey has done any comic acting, and she is always so funny in interviews and on social media, so I think she’s going to do a great job and it really seems like the perfect role for her. In the clip they shared below, you see Lainey, playing Jesse, reunite with her cousin Leanne after a breakup, and in the shows full trailer, you see her laying in bed with Leanne who tells her a Little Debbie snack will fix her right up… honestly, couldn’t agree more.
