One person was killed and three others injured when a car went off the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway in Pacoima and crashed into a tree.

The solo vehicle crash was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 8:18 p.m. Saturday and occurred on the westbound Ronald Reagan Freeway at the San Fernando Road off-ramp.

The vehicle went down the right shoulder embankment and crashed into a tree, a witness told the department.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene, one was taken to a hospital in serious condition and two patients were hospitalized in fair condition, Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Jennifer Middleton said.

The genders and ages of the deceased and injured were not available, she said.
