Grande invited Ty to the stage during her Brooklyn residency on Thursday
On night three of her five-show residency at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, Ariana Grande had a special guest join her Eternal Sunshine Tour.
On Thursday night, when performing “Safety Net,” part of Act III on the set list, Ty Dolla $ign walked through the door of her elaborate stage house as the crowd erupted in cheers. Wearing a leather jacket and pants, Ty joined Grande to perform a duet of the collaboration, which appears on her sixth studio album, Positions. “Safety Net” debuted at Number 52 on the Billboard Hot 100 after the LP’s release in October 2020.
Following their performance, Ty shouted, “The queen, Ari. Love you, thank you!” Later, on his social media, Ty teased another collaboration with the pop star in the future. In a screenshot posted to Instagram Stories of Grande being hoisted into the air, her big finale while performing Eternal Sunshine‘s “Supernatural,” Ty captioned the image, “to be continued…..”
Grande is set to return to the Barclays Center for shows on July 18 and 19 to close out her residency in Brooklyn before heading to Boston for a three-night run at TD Garden.
Last month, the Grammy winner launched her Eternal Sunshine tour in Oakland in support of her seventh studio album of the same name. Her first headlining concert performance since 2019 has been a triumphant return, and the set list has largely centered on her latest record, with a few songs weaved in from her previous work, including three from Positions and two apiece from Dangerous Woman, My Everything, and thank u, next.
