Coronavirus: L.A. County reported 3,606 new cases and five new deaths, July 30

Los Angeles County public health officials reported 3,606 new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases to 1,297,032 as of Friday, July 30.

Officials reported five new deaths linked to the coronavirus, for a total 24,676 deaths since tracking began.

There were 73 more hospitalizations reported since Thursday, increasing the official count of hospitalizations to 991, with 20% in ICU.

According to the California Department of Public Health’s vaccines dashboard, more than 10,993,004 vaccine doses have been administered in Los Angeles County as of Thursday.

Data posted each day is preliminary and subject to change, officials emphasize. More information may become available as individual case investigations are completed.
